Woodsworth One: Order & Disorder hosts a ‘Careers In And Around Law’ panel.

Many of the students in the Order & Disorder stream of Woodsworth One are interested in law and governance, so on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, Woodsworth One hosted a panel featuring professionals within these fields. The professionals discussed their career paths and offered advice to undergraduates. They also underscored the importance of following one’s passions and taking risks. Afterward, students had the opportunity to network and seek further guidance.

The panel consisted of: Erin Bobkin (Board Member, Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada), Staff Sergent Jeff Haskins (Executive Branch, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Leader), Caitlyn Kasper (Lawyer, Aboriginal Legal Services of Toronto), Gary Malkowski (Vice President, Stakeholder and Employer Relations, Canadian Hearing Society & Ontario MPP York East ’90-‘95), and Sergeant Tiana Mash (Toronto South Detention Centre). The panel was moderated by Professor Kerry Taylor, Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, Centre for Criminology & Socio-legal Studies, who teaches the Academic Bridging section of Woodsworth One: Order & Disorder.
